Are you ready for the latest good news and bad news regarding your federal income taxes?
Today, we have a little bit of both. But it depends on your level of income, whether or not you received unemployment benefits last year and whether or not youâve already filed your federal income tax return for 2020.
To put it in a nutshell: The $1.9 trillion stimulus bill President Joe Biden signed into law Thursday retroactively changed the rules regarding taxation of unemployment benefits. And that could mean youâll be getting a larger tax refund (or a lower tax bill), potentially to the tune of thousands.

(BRUSSELS) - A new import control system, reinforcing the EU Customs Union s first line of defence against security and safety threats posed by illicit traffic in goods across the EU s external borders, came into force Monday.
In its first phase, ICS2 will focus on postal and express consignments coming to or through the EU by air, before eventually being applied to all modes of cargo transport.

Survey questions ask what community the resident or business person is from, but otherwise the survey is anonymous. Versions are available online in English and Spanish.
âWe want the residents to drive this bus as much as we can. The decisions will be rooted in the priorities of the communities,â said Elizabeth Mahony, assistant Attorney General in the energy division and energy policy advisory for Attorney General Maura Healey.
